The Defenders (IMDB link), a series that aired in 2010, is yet another lawyer series. Nick Morelli (starred by James Belushi) and Pete Kaczmarek (starred by Jerry O’Connell) have their own law firm in Las Vegas (Morelli & Kaczmarek), and they go really far to win the cases of their clients.
It hasn’t been too popular given that there’s only one season of 18 episodes. It received a 7.2/10 rating om IMDB, which is only average. That is probably because it has not much of a good background story for the characters; I just watched it for the classic lawyer part where cases are being plead out and won in mostly ridiculous ways. I really liked it contrary to the IMDB rate suggestion it’d be otherwise, but truthfully the one season was a perfect as length. I mean, I don’t know if I would have watched it completely if it had been more than 3 or 4 seasons. After all there is nothing much that distinguishes it from other law series such as Boston Legal and, so I hear, The Practice (a series of which Boston Legal is a spin-off).
Conclusion: Watch it if you generally like lawyer series. All episodes are pretty much the same (take a case, magically find a case-winning argument, win the case), but it is not too long to start boring you.
