Game of Thrones (IMDB link) is a series that aired first on April 17th 2011. It is still running (season 2, episode 5 on writing time) yet already received an immense score of 9.4 on IMDB. That’s what drew my attention, but I didn’t feel like downloading it yet. That is, until a very close friend of mine told me I would like it. I watched the first episode, and yup: she was right!
The show revolves around 7 kingdoms with one king. The King’s right hand dies, and one of the dear friends of the King and landlord of one of the 7 kingdoms, becomes the new right hand. Not all landlords, however, are this loyal to their King and want nothing more but seizing the throne themselves…
There’s only one problem with this TV show: once you start watching one episode, you immediately want to see the next one, and the one after that, and so on! I have currently seen the whole first season and the first episodes of season 2 (up till the last one which aired last night). It’s a shame I’ll have to wait another week!
Conclusion: Although it is a bit premature to draw conclusions based on watched episodes when (most likely) many are yet to come, I believe that this TV show will not get worse. It is an amazing story and you feel part of it – as if you are living it among the characters – from the moment you start watching the first episode. Definitely looking forward to the episodes to come!
